The Ohio State University
An collaboration between Oberlin College and The Ohio State University, the SIAEALP is organized as an academic platform dedicated to promoting and advancing applications of interdisciplinary research on the pedagogy of East Asian languages. Chinese, Japanese and Korean are traditionally considered less commonly taught languages in the United States, yet the ever-expanding economic and geopolitical interests in the East Asian region and the growing enrollment in East Asian languages in K-16 education over the past decades have drawn increasing research and pedagogical attention to the teaching and learning of these languages.
Panel Sessions
The 60-minute panel sessions provide an excellent opportunity for participants to showcase and receive feedback on research and teaching practices in the pedagogy of East Asian languages and cultures. |
Repository
Following the symposium, resources and products are available online to continue to support collaboration on East Asian language pedagogy across disciplines and institutions. |
